We had a great turn out Saturday for our fun day.  There were 24 registered players!  The day got a little overcast so the heat was not so unbearable.  We started off the morning with the final play date for the summer league.  Rob Lyon’s team won the league with a narrow victory over Becky Stevens team.  It was a great competition and it all came down to the last week!

Remember we will have registration beginning next week for our Fall League.  We will continue with the same format of mixed doubles and begin play September 13.

There will be a charge of $10.00 but we will be having a barbeque lunch.  Come out and play!

MARK YOUR CALENDARS!   The CATA Social Committee has schedule a CATA Tennis Play Day & Social on Saturday, August 25.  CATA will combine a Tennis Play Day with the last play day for the mixed doubles league that day.  CATA will furnish barbecue pork with players bringing baked beans, slaw, potato salad, chips, etc.  The cost will be $10 per person.  Becky Stevens and Debbie Sapp will be coordinating the food and activities.  More on this event later.

CATA & Cullman Parks & Recreation will be conducting the first annual CATA Oktoberfest Open Tournament in September 2007 (details below).  We need several CATA volunteers to help plan the tournament and run it.  CATA is soliciting tournament sponsors for $100 – sponsors will have their names printed on the tournament T-shirts and we’d like to have 50 sponsors (we currently have 10).  If you’d like to help with the tournament or if you’d like to be s sponsor, please contact Rob Lyon (Oktoberfest Tournament chairperson – RSLgolf64@aol.com) or Paul Creech (pcreech@adfinc.com) .
